Is it wise to buy a domain name and Web hosting from different companies?

Well, first of all, it’s your choice if you want to buy the domain and web hosting from different companies or the same. If you’re going to buy a domain name from a different company and a web hosting from another company, then you have to link the domain name to web hosting company when you want to purchase the web hosting. To connect the domain name, you have to make changes to its DNS settings.
You can also purchase both from the same company. In this case, you don’t need to change the DNS setting of your domain name. Another benefit of this is you don’t need to go through a long process when you want to manage and renew both the services. You can control it under the same dashboard. Thirdly, sometimes, the hosting provider offers the domain name for free, so you get a $10-$15 saved. So, I would recommend buying the domain name and web hosting from the same company. If you want to buy it from different companies, then you will have to pay for both the services and manage both under different dashboards.
If you want to buy the domain name from a separate website, you can choose NameCheap and Godaddy, but if you’re going to purchase both services from the same web service provider, then I would recommend Bluehost and HostGator.
If you are the one who has bought both the services from different companies, and now you want to link the domain name to the website from where you purchased the web hosting, then you can easily manage it. If you have bought the domain name from Namecheap and you want to move it to Bluehost, then you have to follow some steps of that company and you are done.
Or, if you want to change the web hosting to another company, you can do that as well. For example, you have purchased a domain name and web hosting from Godaddy, and now you want to change the web hosting to Bluehost. You have to transfer the files from Godday to Bluehost. After moving, you need to edit the domain name setting and then link to the new hosting provider.
